Where did my baby go?

Lexxie is quickly approaching her second birthday. Where in the world has the time gone?! In my mind, she should be about six months old.
Recently after her naps, I’ve come into the room to find her trying to get out of her crib. It was a cute thing, watching her try to throw her leg over the crib railing. She just wasn’t quite there yet. And then today, she goes down for her late morning nap and a few minutes later I can hear her crying for me. “Momma! Momma!” she was yelling, as she usually does. This time however, the cries were not as distant as usual. I found Lexxie standing at the top of the stairs. She finally did it – and she has done it a few times now.
Gone are the days when I could just put her in her crib and close the door…
Yesterday brought another new development as well. She is now asking me to kiss her boo-boos. It is so sweet. She hit her hand a little while ago so she came running to me with her hand up in front of her “kih-kih!” (She can’t quite get the sssss sound at the end.) What a little sweetie.
Of course, I guess her singing along to her favorite songs, including Blitzkrieg Bop, is another example of the new era…
